Second Day at Coral Oaks

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

I finished today. I picked up the last 8 ;minutes that I had left from yesterday, zipped through the program, skipped the recruitment part (no one would consider it), and finished 15 minutes early. I also ate two cake donuts and two chocolate chip cookies. Then I had a couple of peanut better cookies. I can't say it was a vary healthy day, but I finished up at 1270 calories for the day. They were just the wrong 1270. No aerobic exercise, and after I finished the reports and mailed everything off, I was totally shot. It was only 72 degrees and very cool when I got up, so it would have been a good day to spend an hour outside in the morning.

Tomorrow I'm going out without the dogs, then have a shower and shave and have breakfast. I see my urologist in the early afternoon, TOPS in the evening, and probably pick a bunch more peaches sometime during the day. In spite of the spraying, we still have tiny beetles eating some of the peaches. I finally figured out that when they get ripe some bird pecks the peach, then the bugs go for the really nice fruit. I picked up five more peaches today (the ground was clear yesterday) and started feeling the peaches on the tree. Some of them come off easily, and I got four more that are probably ready to eat. We ate both of the ones I picked two days ago today - the rock hard one was as good as the ones from the store after a few days, so I guess we just have to pick them while they're hard and wait for them to finish getting ripe inside. They're as big as the Florida peaches from the grocery (not as big as the Georgia peaches) so I just need to adapt to the south a little more.

It is hard to beat a real Ga peach. I love it when the pick-ups show up from Ga. Bill and I could make ourselves sick eating too many. I got a couple from grocery store but I always have to wait and let them ripen. They should be ready to eat soon.
Birds love fruit like that. You are lucky to get any before the pests get to them.
You still did great with your calories. Congrats.
Sounds like you have another busy day tomorrow.
