An experience that motivated me to really try harder

Wednesday, June 09, 2010

So a friend of mine is getting married and I went with her to look at bridesmaid dresses. She convinced me to try on this gorgeous wedding gown just for the fun of it. Well to my disappointment, the size that fit me was a size 14. I just dont get it. 40 lbs ago I wore a size 14 jeans, and now wear a size 10. It really shot my self esteem that day. How can I weigh 152 lbs and fit into a size 14 dress? I am now determined to lose the rest of this weight once and for all. When I get married someday, I do not want to have to wear a size 14 dress, hoping a 10 at the most.

Was it because of your upper half? I know that when I was a bridesmaid for the first time I had the exact same reaction! I had to get a 14 or 16 (don't remember). All I know is that it was a size bigger than my friends, who wore much bigger size jeans than I did! It was mainly because of my boobs, that's what my friends said...but my waist (or lack of rather) didn't help matters.

Anyway, don't let it get you down! Let it pick you up and get moving! Seems like that is the direction you are headed with this anyway ;-)
