Starting out my day thinking that I am going to do a great 20-minute jump rope routine. About 3 1/2 minutes into the routine it hit me . . . BAM! Boredom. What am I to do? I really want to get my cardio in but my treadmill is down and it is raining cats and dogs outside. Think, think, and think – I got it! I can do a circuit training session to help eliviate the boredom. Jump rope for 30 seconds, do 30 jump & jacks, do 12 side shuffles, 12 crunches on the ball, 30 leg-pull ups, and do 12 wood chops on each side. Whew! After three sets of that routine, I feel energized and ready for my day.
Point is - you have to be adaptable. I didn’t expect to be bored doing my jump rope routine, which I love to do, but I was. I didn’t expect it to rain so hard so early in the morning, but it did. We have to learn not to allow obstacles to get in our way of achieving our ultimate goal. When the road turns, you don’t keep straight, you turn with the road.
Make it a great day everyone and remember to turn with the road.
