First day at Coral Oaks
Tuesday, June 08, 2010
I taught the first day of a two day course at Coral Oaks today - a seminar, really. All people have to do is show up and sit through it, and they get a certificate, but I have to start on time, end on time, and cover all the material on each of two days. I make up the name tags and prepare two books for each student before the class, then register them and collect the money from each person before the first class, and make up the certificates after the first class. I also have to get the room set up before the first class so I have to be there at least an hour early. The second day I don't have to get there until as late as 8:15, and the class is supposed to be done by 1 PM. Then I do all the reporting paperwork, and send a report to my boss and the unused certificates, money, copies of the issued certificates, and a report to AARP in California. I should be done by 2:30 or 3:00 tomorrow.
I missed the Kiwanis meeting today, but Marty has a blank check on the administrative fund, so it should be OK even if Liz got a speaker. Ace was busy shopping today, and came home with several receipts, ranging from $100 to just a few bucks. She also got stuff in the mail, and a mysterious charge showed up on the bank's web site. She thinks it's some back-ordered T shirts that she told the clerk she didn't want. When they get here she will decide whether to keep them or not.
