My discussion with dad went sort of better. He didn't try to defend what they were doing. His only statement was that "if mama isn't happy then no one is happy." To me that is just passing blame to her.
Their daughter told me that since the talk with dad; if mom hasn't made them dinner he has at least been taking them to get something to eat. Unfortunately it is anywhere good for them - usually Wendy's or McDonalds. But at least he is stepping up and doing this much.
He agreed with me on the rules and actually apologized for the weekends that I had his daughter.
He also told me about some of the issues with his wife. I told him that I really shouldn't be the person he talks to; I offered my husband up for this and also gave him our Sr. Pastor's number.
He puts up spouting and this is definitely the season that the hours get longer; I told him I understand but he also has an obligation to care for these kids- I can't do it for them. He admitted at this point he has be opting for the bigger spouting jobs to stay clear of his wife getting home after she leaves; this way they don't have the chance to fight.
I told him again that he needs to get help in coping with what ever is going on. Told him to call our Pastor and he could refer him to someone else.
I only heard from the kids once and it was a text message from the daughter; letting me know that their dad took them to the fast food places for dinner.
I hope that they don't hold this against the kids and prevent them from wanting to go to church- (ALLOWING then to go to church) with us.
Pleas continue to pray for this family with me- I have done all I can now just sit back and let GOD work his wonders...........
