What's coming over me???

I am getting excited about working out!!! Finally!! At age 45, a switch has flipped in my brain--it's about time, don't you think?!?

I have absolutely no excuse not to exercise. I have a very sweet work schedule (12-hour shifts, every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday). It's difficult to get a workout in before I leave for the day, and prefer not to, since I tend to work up quite a sweat! BUT--on my days off, I get up early, get on the computer for a few, have a cup of coffee to jump-start my brain, and then I get my workout done for the day! It's becoming, dare I say, a HABIT?!? Who'd have thunk it?? I even find myself doing things like tucking my tummy in ("engaging my abs", in workout lingo!), and standing up straighter when I'm not working out, just in everyday tasks! What's coming over me?

Maybe it's the idea of getting rid of my tummy pooch and saddlebags once and for all. I'm almost afraid to dream of having a flat tummy! Sounds great, though!!

I did the PM portion of Debbie Rocker's AM/PM Walking workout today, and she said something that I loved.

"We are all athletes in training!"

Never looked at it that way! LOVE IT!!!

I give a great deal of credit to this fabulous Spark Community for the change in my attitude. I never would have thought I'd feel this way about exercise pre-SP--6 short months ago! I am a Sparker for LIFE!!!

    What motivation! Those are long shifts, I am sure you burn quite a few calories while there. It feels good to WANT to work out.
