The Magic Word is SALE

Sunday, June 06, 2010

I CANNOT BELIEVE I DID IT AGAIN.
THEY HAD IT ON SALE AND I BROUGHT HOME A BOX
I ATE SIX BOWLS OF THE STUFF FOR LUNCH

This time it was Cheerios. I just cannot do starchy carbs. I go nuts even with the healthy stuff. Luckily I use very little milk in my cereal....but still. Six Bowls? Yikes! And guess what I had for dinner. Yep.

What is it about the word SALE that drives me crazy. If it wasn't on sale, I wouldn't even look at it. But tell me something is almost half price and it's like a shoppers aphrodisiac. I LUST for it. I just want to buy it, take it home, and devour it........which I do.

Okay....the thrill is gone. It's over. I'm hoping it was just a one night stand.

Wait a minute....Did someone say Chocolate Cheerios ? emoticon

I won't eat Cheerios because there aren't enough fiber grams - Raisin Bran gets me every time!

Chocolate or banana Cheerios are what my 2 1/2 yr. old grandson loves. I haven't tried either one but am sure I would like them. Just think if you had eaten 6 bowls of ice cream. Cheerios have to be better than that. That box has to be about gone by now, just move on a little more exercise.

I love the chocolate cheerios. I try to stay away from cereal because I eat them like that too. I just can't stop. I don't use regular milk, I like Almond Breeze, but I'll keep pouring it on until I'm over-stuffed. emoticon

  Multi-Grain Cheerios are my downfall!!!
This reminded me of an email I received once, where one of the statements was: How much Healthy Choice Ice Cream do you have to eat before it is no longer healthy?
You are fine..........just Zumba extra...... emoticon

Honey nut cheerios are my weakness! I eat them... and I eat them. Yeah...
Walk away, walk away, walk away!!!

You can do it! You can.

You know this is a trigger food for you now. You throw it in the trash...OUTSIDE! Not even the kitchen trash! OUTSIDE! And then, you don't buy them again. Even though they are healthy.

I remember being in 4th grade and asking my mom... "will I get fat if I eat nothing but strawberries?" Her answer, "yes... if you eat too many of them." There is such a thing as too much of a good thing!!!

I am a cereal maniac. I could eat a whole box in one sitting, I'm sure of it.

I like cheerios -- we've had fresh blueberries available and the combination is my favorite.

Something got triggered here. It reminds me of how I used to want to buy food at fast food restaurants or buy a treat every time we went to the grocery store. It was a childhood thing, and not necessarily MY attittude, but one that was absorbed.

The good news is that you can get cured! You can get past the sale thing, and get passed the "too much of a good thing" thing.

I have one book about thyroid concerns that suggests substituting cereal for a meal to assist with weight loss. So, what if it's not completely evil?? What if, with a lack of excess fats, your body knows what to do with the carbs? What if you use all that extra fuel for more bachata? What if you haven't done the damage that you thought you've done? This is a long haul process, not a one day make-it-or-break-it event.

keep swiveling those hip! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I hope you tracked the whole box. If it was me I would stay away from sales, especially on toxic non-food items that feed the emotional needs. emoticon

Can't you restrict your SALE tendencies to the healthy stuff? The other day I bought 4 boxes of Kashi - and 15 Larabars - because they was on sale! LOL!

Get ride of the box now - and by that I mean throw it out without thinking of it twice - otherwise you know you will come calling again emoticon
