Crossfit Day 4 Challenge (Back Squats)

Back Squats - 5 sets x 5 reps = 25 reps. Your supposed to go real heavy with this exercise. However, I have a bad knee and no spotter. So i did the smart thing, and stuck to something i can do without hurting myself. Safety first before trying to prove your Superman & my wife will kill me if anything happened to me =). No joke!

I used

Weights - 40 lbs + 20 lb Weighted Vest = 60 lbs total
Reps - 25 reps x 2 sets = 50 reps total

I'm not quite sure if i did the Squats correctly, but i do notice that i tend to shift my weight due to my bad knee. Regardless, i got the workout done! It was short and sweet! 8 mins Total!

    I would watch those knees coming forward as HisArtist mentioned.. That could be the root of the knee issues.. sometimes putting a little something under your toes helps you to focus on pushing the bootie out and back when squatting. Pretend or have a stool out behind you so you can focus on sitting back.. I have a rack that I can drop down onto if I get a bit out of range..

    Sumi, you really do like superman with a weighted vest and the weights behind your back. You are hard core. You could look it up in the dictionary, and your pic would be right there! Hoping to be able to do my cross fit challenge by Tuesday or Wednesday.

    Dawn it could be a Optical Illusion because of the Lower camera angle. I try my best to keep my knees from coming ahead of my toes but it does look like my knees are coming ahead of my toes doesn't it? I try to go slow with the squats, even with 60 lbs though it doesn't feel heavy for my upper body, it does feel heavy for my knees which is why i have to really downsize the weight.

That's the biggest benefit from Video taping yourself, you can see all your flaws and be able to correct them when you see form errors. Learning Curve right? :)

    Nice weighted vest...crazy man! It does look like you are shifting your weight to your right. Be really careful with that. Also looks like your knees may be coming forward of your toes...maybe need more weight on your heels? Of course, could be optical illusion based on camera angles. Nice job.
