After joining the Healthy Habits Challenge Team today I started thinking back to the bad habits I have put to rest over the last 2 months since joining Spark.

Although I have high blood pressure I never bothered to monitor my sodiun intake . Oh I stopped using the salt shaker with my meals ,but never realized that some of the foods I was eating had hidden sodiumin them.
emoticon
Fruits were very rarely seen in my refrigerator or on my plate. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I like vegetables but maybe only had 1 sometimes 2 a day.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

And drinking a glass of water not nearly as often as I should. emoticon

I was terribly drawn to sweets of any kind, couldn't get enough of them
emoticon emoticon emoticon

Not to mention my cravings for extra cheesy PIZZA!! emoticon

But since I made the commitment to myself to be a healthier person through better nutrition and exercise I have lost the cravings and gained the energy I was missing all along.
The first thing I grab in the morning is water not coffee, and my breakfast includes at least 2 fruits and 1 vegetable every day.
I am staying away from artificial sweeteners and packaged foods and getting in at least 8 glasses of water a day.
My salads are full of crunchy veggies and my stomach problems have almost completely stopped.
The portion control is still a work in progress, but it's getting better.
Over all I feel much healthier and energized by the daily workouts and my stamina is improving.
I still have a lot to work on but I know with Sparks nutrition and fitness help I will reach my goals and stay healthy.
Yay! for the motivation and help from my Spark Friends!!

Isn't it wonderful to finally have all the energy you were missing before? I love my new healthy habits and I never want to lose them. Even now that I am at my ideal weight, I am still working to improve and I am still seeing changes in my body, mostly building muscle and getting more toned up! This is a work in progress and there is always more to do, it's what keeps me going!

I have been a Sparker for three years. When I look back I never drank 8 glasses of water, because I thought it would make me go to the bathroom too much. Now I drink 8 glasses of water everyday! I didn't eat fruits and veggies, but now I eat 13 1/2 cup servings per day. I was able to find every excuse in the book not to exercise and now it is part of my life. I never used to be able to sleep though the night, but with my good eating habits and exercise, my stress is reduced and I sleep like a baby. Good habits feel great and Spark People is the key to my success! emoticon

Have you tried pizza Without cheese? I'm now eating a plain type without cheese.
It's so good and if the waiter puts a funny face I explain I'm allergic. To what? To extra kilos!!!!

I never really thought about sodium until my very thin mother-in-law was having problems with high blood pressure. I started to look at recipes to help her make stuff lower in sodium. Great blog!

Congratulations!! This journey is amazing isn't it? I can relate with the sodium awareness, since it is something that shows up on the tracker! I have been astounded at some of what I was eating! I used to have stomach acid all the time and ate about like you used to. It is gone now! I am getting my eating under some kind of control and need to work on my fitness next and incorporate it together. I have had a rough week of bronchitis and I am waiting until I feel better to take on this next challenge! Keep up the great work. emoticon
