Weekly report card

Sunday, May 30, 2010

Last week was another crazy week in a series of crazy weeks, when I was gone and/or off line for a big chunk of the week (which messed up my nutritional tracking in particular and made it much more challenging to meet my nutritional goals) but I was also very active and burned, if sparks is accurate, lots and lots of calories. So all in all, I think I did okay!

Motivational Goals:

* Blog at least twice (preferably uplifting blogs, but really I'm okay if I just blog): emoticon

*Welcome new folk to sparks 3 times a week: emoticon

*Post on someone's spark page or blog at least once a week: emoticon

*Post on the stress relief forum 4 times a week: emoticon

* Write in my journal every day: emoticon

*Listen to a get-up-and-go song every day: emoticon

*Work on Vision Collage a little every day: Goal NOT met: 6/7

Grade for Motivational goals: 6/7 or 86% (B); Partial Credit: 98% or A+

Healthy Living Goals:

*Drink 8 cups of water every day: emoticon

*Get 8 hours of sleep every night: emoticon

* Work out for at least 10 minutes at least 5 days a week: emoticon

*Work out for at least 130 minutes every week: emoticon 595 fitness minutes (not all of which counted as SparkAmerica minutes—I only have 425 of those. I guess you can only earn so many minutes a day?)

*Get at least 100 minutes of cardio and burn 1145 calories a week: emoticon 585 minutes of cardio and 4027 calories burned!

*Strength train at least 3 days a week: Goal NOT met 1/3 (counting fencing as strength training)

*Eat within my calorie limits: Goal NOT met: 1/7 days that I know of, though I didn’t record (didn’t have internet access, time, and/or know what was in my food 4/7 days, so it might not be as bad as it sounds. Also, I went WAY over my calories burned goal, so going over my nutritional goals is not as bad as it might be. For the most part, I felt good about my food choices—I ate mostly healthy food most of the time, ate when I was hungry, and so forth. So except for a few days when I ate out (where I went way over my calories, even though I had tried to make some healthier choices) I don’t think I did as badly as the numbers make it sound.

*Eat at least one fresh produce a day: emoticon

Grade for Healthy Lifestyle goals: 6/8 or 75% (C); Partial Credit: 81% or B-

WooHoo! I'd say you are making great progress. I look at all those goal met icons going down this blog. You are definitely doing something right. Making better choices when eating out is key to making this a lifetime habit.
Great job!

Your diligence and commitment to your healthy living program is commendable. You are living a lot healthier than most North Americans. Keep up the good work.
