Weekly Update

This was a tough week...had a few ups but quite a few downs...from work to family and of course, the battle of nutrition & fitness. I didn't take the opportunities available to me to run or work out because I used the stress as an excuse. What's more important...family or my fitness? To me my family is more important...always...but I believe the exercise would have helped physically AND emotionally, so I must remember this in case something like this happens in the future.

Good news, yesterday was a great day with my family and it looks as if today will be the same...hope so!

Sorry for whining - just feels good to let it out.

    Fitness and family - sometimes it is hard to balance, isn't it? However, a skipped day or two won't derail you. You'll be back on track soon. :) Glad you had a good weekend with your family!

    Yes, sometimes when it comes to family or fitness I have found that fitness helps me feel and act better around my family. It helps keep me sane and happy. And when I know I am taking care of myself it helps me take better care of my family. We just have to find the happy medium!

Hope you had a good Memorial Weekend. I for one am glad its over. I am now in recovery mode from all the food I ate. But today is a new day and the start of a new month and I am looking forward to my run this morning!

    Yep, that stress you are talking about is probably what got most of us overweight. For years I chose my family over me and now I have been paying the price. To be happy and healthy for your family, you will need to put yourself first more often. I wish that I had started taking care of me sooner. When under stress I wish that I had exercised, but instead I ate (like most people do) when I was stressed. Now that I have lost the weight, I am stronger, happier, and will be around longer for my family.

Keep working at it. Don't give up. Exercise really does relieve stress. Try to find a happy medium between family and taking care of yourself. The longer you wait to get healthy, the longer it will take you to be healthy.

  Have a good Memorial Day. Stress is put upon us to make us stronger, but it really sucks sometimes.
