Drove all day. Mindless gnoshing on my bag of broccoli, unsalted almonds, Cortland apples and bananas. Trying to make good time, didn't do much working out at rest stops even though I DID bring my Nordic Poles. I DID do some stretches when stopped and while driving I did lots of pelvic tilts, kegels and butt scrunches...all are supposed to strengthen the core and prevent back / sciatica / piriformis troubles.

But when we got to the hotel for an overnight stay I felt like such a slug and was so surprised that even a cheap Super 8 had an elliptical and two stationary bikes that I hopped on the elliptical for about 45 mins and then lapped around the hotel a few times walking and several times jogging.


On to my son & fiance's place in GA tomorrow...probably after another elliptical session in the morning.

I'm heading to South Dakota on Sunday - an organized bus trip. We'll stop for breaks/food every few hours and I plan to get some serious walking in during the breaks, and to hit the gym at the hotels. Good for you, all the working out you fit in - that can be really tough when you're not on a regular schedule!

Not sure where you are in Georgia, but here in the NW Atlanta burbs, it is storming something awful today. Hope you are having a great time in GA and that you get in your 'outside time' between our raindrops!

    WOW that is AWESOME that the Super 8 Motel had some machines you could use. Drive safe and have fun this long weekend. i'm hitting the books to try and get way ahead so I can cut out the over lap time I have with two classes way down or way out!
