Didn't make it to the gym this morning so I went out on my mountain bike for the first time. First time! We have owned these bikes since before I got pregnant with the kidlet, in fact, at least 8 - 9 months before since I was pregnant with one we lost when we got the bike and I was afraid I'd fall and hurt myself and possibly miscarry because of that. Anyways, we got the bikes a LONG time ago and I rode it for the first time today. I'm still afraid but I did the cul de sac four times (it is sure awkward to track "laps" on the fitness tracker) and that did a bit of a number on my thighs. I guess I'll have to slowly work up to going any distance. I sure wish it burned more calories though.
Took the kidlet to the pool this afternoon. We were there for probably an hour and a half. I tracked about ten minutes on the tracker. It isn't swimming but, because of the shallow water, you have to bounce on bent legs a lot. I figure that's got to be worth something, don't you think?
Tomorrow is my for-sure gym day and if it is decent in the morning (there's snow in our forecast) I'll try to get out on the bike again early in the morning and then, later at the gym, do my strength circuit and perhaps follow it up with a fast, steep incline trudge.
I also realized I am going to need some sort of wind-breaker for riding this bike. It was a little crisp this morning and the mere speed I was going sent the wind right through my hoodie.
Wish me luck tomorrow. I might get more adventurous with the bike, depending on when I wake up. I'm so afraid of falling!
