I am reflecting on my two years here on spark - when I joined spark it wasnt to lose weight - it was to gain health. I feel better than I did two years ago.
I changed some things that have impacted my health.
My first two months I was on spark I did not do much, except read. I was like a sponge taking in all that this site has to offer. By my fourth month here I was on my treadmill working hard and I lowered my cholesterol 64 points in 7 weeks! woohoo! No meds. Just exercise and good eating. I learned that from SPARK. I have thrown 3 drs to the way side. I am maintaining stage 3 kidney failure with normal readings!!
Granted I have had more set backs then most.
That Jan I tore a back muscle - not by exercise, helping hubby move a piece of furniture. February I had bronchitus and a secondary infection which laid me up for almost 6 weeks. On and off for the next year and a half it was one thing or another. My bad ankle, bouts of nausea and vomiting, my thyroid being OFF for six months, a staff infection, an ear infection, allergy to meds and fish oil, a viral infection that lasted four months, an eye infection that lasted 3 months, ect,ect. You get the pic.
I have not given in and I have not given up. I was hoping that this would be the year that I would be healthy enough to focus on losing some weight. Did not happen. It might - I am still walking and still eating healthy. I am feeling GOOD. I am motivated and feeling rejuvenated.
God willing I am going to stay healthy and moving this time. I am praying for His grace and His mercy to help me to continue to Spark on and gain more health so I can focus on losing this year. There are 6 months and a few days left in this year.
I will not give up. I strive for health every day, in every step I take. I keep on keeping on!
