I started a 6 month program through my gym for women with high BMI's. The goal of the program is to learn healthy behaviors, and to introduce the participants to a variety of machines/classes that the gym has to offer.
On the first night of class, a woman mentioned SP and said it was an excellent site. To my surprise, the fitness instructors gave SP their stamp of approval.
I joined SP that night, and am so glad I did. The nutrition and fitness trackers have kept me motivated, and I love the supportive online community!
After one week, I'd lost 5 POUNDS! I'm realistic and know I won't continue to loose 5 pounds a week, but it was a thrilling way to start my week.
My work atmosphere is very "treat friendly." Every occasion is marked with sweet indulgences. My first challenge came today: a 60th birthday party. The birthday girl was very persistent that I eat this fantastic dessert, and I found a very good way of handling it - I simply cut a VERY small piece. I was happy that I wasn't wrecking my food plan for the day, and she was happy that I was "celebrating" with her.
Let's hope this next week goes as well!
