Stupid new scale

Tuesday, May 25, 2010

I haven't been motivated to lose weight for a long time. Last Wednesday I hit the 150 mark and I was pissed. So I started. Then Friday my husband broke the scale and we had to get a new one. It says I weigh 4 pounds more then I did at 150! So I've lost some weight, but based on my new scale it doesn't show it. Now I gotta keep up the momuntum to make this new scale move.

:) I have a love/hate relationship with the scale as well..it feels so good when I lose, but it sucks when I gain! haha..I just try to block it out so it can't ruin my day!

First off don't break the new scale - even though that would be enjoyable!! Just remember that you know how hard you are working. You never know - the old scale could have been broken when it said 150. Just take a moment, breathe and know that you will be okay.

I honestly have a scale that sits in my bathroom unused! Its one of those fancy digital remember all of your stuff too! I have found that my Wii Fit Board seems to always be pretty accurate so why bother weighing on both! Keep your chin up you'll get that scale under control! LOL! Just try not to throw it across the room first!

Scales are sooooo frustrating. I have an old 'health-o-meter', what a laughable name in itself. And I learned how to lean forward or lean back to make it lie to me. HA. I got a coupon for $10 of a new digit scale, looked great in the package, what should I buy - the white one, the black one, white, black, white, black (what a stupid decision; I bought black). Got it home and had to read the instruction manual, what? can't just step on it?

OK, it programs weight in and remembers so that it can tell me if I've lost or gained since the last time I stepped on it. Oh my, do I really want this feature.

Two? It registers two weights? OK, I live alone - so I have one weight in the morning (naked) and one for in the evening (fully clothed). Have you guessed which one I use more often?

The one that doesn't remember! yup, that way when I step on and I know it is lower, I'll turn on the remember weight and step on again. HA, I've trained myself well on how to lie to the equipment.

Hope I'm not teaching you all the cheat too. I must add that my actual weekly weighin is at another location and a different 'health-o-meter' scale (like the old doctor off scales). Smiles - Debie

A while back my hubby got us a new scale. He got a Taylor brand, while I believe is good, but it was a cheapy. Like $8 at Target. It actually had us weighiing 20 lbs less, and it was calabrated. I ended up getting a digital one for less than $30. I can't remember much about it, but it's endorsed by the Biggest Loser.

Have a great week.

Scales are evil!! Just kidding - they might not be evil but they sure are ANNOYING. Mine has been stuck on the same weight for a month - in spite of LOT"S of exercise and good eating - UGHHHHH!

Hang in there and you'll get your enw scale to come down where it belongs.
