Oy! I owe, I owe...

Sunday, May 23, 2010

So I took the plunge and hit the Order button!

I don't know what some of it means but this is what I got:

AMD Phenom X6 1055T + ATI Radeon HD 5670 1GB (video card)
Windows 7
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz - 4 DIMMs
Monitor Dell 21.5" Widescreen
HD 1.5TB - 7200RPM, SATA 3.0Gb/s, 1.56MB Cache (??)
16X DVD+/- RW Drive
2 year basic in home warranty

I purchased the last one to the right - with monitor.

If I can get 6 years out of it (I am just past 6 years on my current computer) I will be thrilled almost as much as losing weight! It sure is scary hitting the order button! I think I am hyperventilating!!

Thank you for explaining Cache to me MIKIIO!

Awesome Linda, I'd say it's about time you had a new computer! I, too, much prefer windows 7 over vista! It's wonderful! Enjoy!

I bet you will be pleasantly surprised, like LOPEYP said, that you will be computing with a whole lot more speed! It is hard to spend a lump like that but the improvements from when you got your last one will be worth it. Your Sparkness deserves a more fancy rig so enjoy! emoticon

    Best of luck!

Dell's support on my 3 y/o computer was fabulous. (I got the five year warranty.)

Also, reviews on Windows 7 are excellent.

That's not to say that the Mac isn't still running a swankier and faster show, but W7 is getting excellent reviews.

Best of luck!

Cache refers to the cache memory. It stores copies of the data you use the most frequently on your main memory locations.

I'm also nervous when I order pricey items.

You are completely updated now. ;)

WTG GF! You should get some good use out of that. Wish I could join you in a new one too but mine is only a bit over a year old but it has Vista and I want the new Windows 7.
