I'm totally satisfied with SP, it's like magic. But for sure what I really think it is that makes SP works is:
1. Journal of your workouts
2. Journal or tracking food intake, so calories intake too
3. A lot of people sharing your goals,
4. Others accomplishments help to realize this can be happening to you, so you keep on track.
In other words, you have a lot of support and tools to track your develops during time.
