Its working...

Monday, May 17, 2010

I coordinated kitchen volunteers, and food to make a delicious menu including food from our local farms this last week. I put an extra 20 hours a week in about my usual 25 hours at the Farm and 12 hours with the EMO Kitchen Coordination work that I do. Oh lets not forget mustard and caring for my partners 4 year old son. I can't believe I made it through last week, and looking back I was mostly calm, not too stressed, and well positive. Before the final 9 hour event shift I went for a 6 mile run. This run gave me the strength and concentration to remain steady during the last meal preparation, service and clean-up. Never in my life has an event went so smoothly, never before have I been so healthy.

I have to put more effort in everyday, but the rewards keep coming and I just can't keep up. I haven't weighed myself in a week and today I lost another pound. I feel great, I look great, I love myself and I can't get over how positive my outlook remains. Sometimes I feel like I don't know who I am anymore, but I like her. I love the new me!

You are such an inspiration to me. I haven't been to the gym in I can't remember when. I am not handling the busy-ness of my life as well as you are. Since the lay-off at my work - work is INSANE!!! When I come home - all I want to do is eat dinner - and go to bed...and sleep, and sleep some more.

I am having a hard time getting up in the morning because I just feel like I NEED the sleep more than I need the gym right now.

I know in my heart that's NOT the case since I still haven't gotten under 200 lbs...but I'm still not giving up.

I LOVE YOU REBECKA!!!
I talked to my boss about visiting you in August...he told me that he has to talk to his boss before he can approve any vacation requests at this point. Unfortunately summer is our "busy season" and we are super short handed right now.

I'll let you know when I hear something.
Keep up the good work!!! I am so proud of you.
