My Mother-in-law was Ethiopian. She lived until she was 93 years old. She had 22 children and my former husband was the only one who survived her. He went back to Ethiopia, and took care of her for the last 10 years of her life. Only 3 of her children had survived to adulthood. Others had died during various plagues, sometimes 3 and 4 at a time. When I am discouraged and unhappy about some situation...I think of her, and what she had to go through. I never actually met her, but I will always have a place in my heart for her.
