Since January 1st I have been exercising 5 days a week and using the nutrition tracker on a regular basis. My goal was to lose 8 pounds by my 40th birthday which was last week. All of a sudden here I am, I haven't exercised in almost a week and I am not sure why. I treat my workouts like meeting appointments and always make them a priority.
A part of me wonders if I am suddenly slacking off because my birthday came and I didn't reach my goal when I should be focusing on other accomplishments. For example finally joining a Zumba class that I love, or trying harder bootcamp style workouts or the fact that I look better today than I did 20 years ago.
It's funny how your mind can play tricks on you. Well, enough is enough. Today I forgive myself for not doing my best and get back to my routines. It's not always about the goals, sometimes it's all about the journey.
