I'm a Runner! (almost)

I am very excited, for today I began my journey to becoming a runner! I ran 2 minutes, walked 3 minutes and so on for a total of 30 minutes. When I thought I was too tired to keep running I just kept telling myself, I can do anything for 2 minutes, and before I knew it, it was time to walk again. I am very proud of my commitment to myself and making progress towards meeting my goals!

    That is awesome. Before you know it you'll be running for 5 at a time, and then the sky's the limit.

    You are a runner the first time you take a step. You are one of us, my sister. Speed matters not. How long you run matters not.

I have found that 2 minutes is a really, really long time when you are running. Give your body time to get used to running. Take it easy and have fun.

    Brilliant, I started this some months ago. Couch to 5K is a good program and you could join one of the running teams here (I'm with slow fat runners)

    Ah, Mee too. I'm working intervals like you are. I'm using the Couch to 5K podcast *free on itunes* and its great to keep me motivated and tracks the times for me. I wish you the best of luck on your quest to become a runner. May we both be victorious.
