4 months gone in the year. Where did they go?

Saturday, May 01, 2010

May 1st, 2010. We are already through 4 months of the year. Where did the time go?

I work for one company of a group of companies owned by the same people. They recently bought a soccer team and in conjunction with their annual open house for customer during the day, they had a bbq for the staff last night as a sort of "welcome to the family"

I got my sister and her husband to come so I could get a ride as the place they were having this is way on the other side of the city and I would never have been able to get there on the bus.

I was told it would be hamburgers and hot dogs, so I wasn't sure what else would be there. My BIL is on a very low carb program right now (and has lost over 40 pounds so far - yea him) so he was thinking that he might not be able to eat much and might have to go the a restaurant for a steak or something after, but it turned out they had a TON of food, lots of salads, there was a ceasar, a greek, veggie tray, fruit tray and I never even went over to the dessert table. The company I work for catered the shindig and as we were leaving, BIL said that is that is a sample of the catering we do, WOW!

I will pass that comment on to those who worked the whole day long and still were cheerful (well at least to the outside world - I am sure they were dog tired but didn't let it show!

Today is an open house where my nephew works - again hamburger and hot dogs. Not sure if there will be anything else besides that, but......

After that we are hoping to get down to our church stake centre for a display they are having and sounds really wonderful. It is a pictorial of the life of Christ. Not sure if that means it is painting, from one artist, or several. I guess I have to see it to find out what it's all about.

So I guess I better get ready as I have about an hour before they come to get me. Busy day ahead! Onward ho!

YUM! You're making me hungry... Isn't it wonderful when there are enough options that you can make wise choices that will keep you successful on your journey to a healthy weight and lifestyle... Guess that everyone is getting the message that we need to take more control of our lives and how we eat and we can give back more when we are healthier and feel better... It is possible!!!

What a nice BBQ! Fruit and veggies instead of chip and dip. YEAH!

The catering sounded wonderful. I wish my husband's company offered all those options for food.

Wow you got lucky at the BBQ. Most arn't like that. You got in your fruits and veggies and even got some good food in. It's amazing what your company does to think of their employee's that way. Happy days at church too.
