5K Training update & New shoes

well I got out this afternoon and did some walking/jogging. This was my 4th time out and I went from jogging and walking equal amounts of time to jogging twice as long as I was walking.
I felt a difference today. I dident feel quite as heavy today... it was much easier durring the jogging and I dident feel like my lungs were going to colaps.
Being that this was only my 3rd time out that gives me some hope that I will be in ok shape in a few weeks when my 5k rolls around.
I went out this afternoon and finally got some new shoes. I have had the sneakers I was wearing for a year and a half. I bought them when I started losing weight back at the beggining of 09 and then needed to be retired a long time ago. I mean when I started out I had 270 pounds walking around on top of them... you can tell too, the soles have stress wrinkles in them where they have been crunched down. eek! On top of all that the shoes are a size 10.5 and after losing all the weight I wear about a 9 now.
I got a pair of new balance shoes this time... I would have got addidas if they had them because I really liked the last pair of shoes I had and they were addidas. The new balances look really nice and feel good too and when I wore them durring my run today they worked out really well.
BTW... these shoes are my reward for making it to 195lbs... I met the goal a while ago but just got around to buying them.
