The mind is an incredible instrument, but sometimes it pays to write it down. I have found my journals to be invaluable as I make the journey to a healthier lifestyle. As I experiment with things to see what works and doesn't, how I'm feeling before and after I try new activities/foods, I journal it. It has definitely helped me stay on track. Be a good student of life, of your life - take notes!
