I present to you....the Bog Song

Friday, April 23, 2010

The last lab report for my class has been changed to a "creative writing" assignment....so I wrote a song. I have about a million other things I could be doing, but I wrote a song!
Here are the lyrics (I encorporated educational bog things, funny class things, and a brown-nosing finishing line! :))
It's a parody to "Forever and Ever, Amen" by Randy Travis.
I will be "performing" this 4/29

Leave honest, even critical, comments! Thanks!
If you question anything, let me know.

Oh, did I mention I've never sang for anyone before? (Other than the boyfriend, in the car).... I am not a musician!

We went to a bog on the weekend
To explore things that we’d never seen
A small sun-do plant and some red fire ants
Then everyone broke off to do their own things

Eric looked hard for those four toeds
While Rachel snapped pics of the scene
Chad chased some geese, and Aiden picked leaves
And Kelly and Lucas were nowhere to be seen
Yeah, we went to a bog for our last trip, and learned of its neat qualities
Its low pH range, and only inputs of rain
All characteristics caused by geology
There the sphagnum moss was a plenty
And the pitcher plants, in full bloom
The bog was exciting, though not too inviting, so we went for a walk after noon
Marc found mass-eggs that were frozen
And we tried to identify them
Then Chad showed up with goose eggs, that had become prey
Which Lisa embraced, in the hopes she could save

It’s safe to assume we loved field trips
I’d say we had boat loads of fun
Let’s all thank Suzie, for making this class be, a class that cannot be outdone

(Last thing, I swear: sorry for the quality. My video isn't the greatest. And I look like poo b/c I just got back from about 90 mintues of racquetball! Give me some slack! :))
