3 weeks and Im going strong

Well its been three weeks since I started my walking goal of 12 miles a week. Twelve miles proved to hard for my bad ankle, so I am walking 9 miles and burning 500 calories another way - depends upon how I feel. Last week I did yard work for about 5 hours. This week I am going to do "other" cardio. I have lost 4 pounds... Woohoo!

Ive also found some creative ways to cut some of those extra calories:
We have tacos twice a week - I have cut out the taco shell and I am cutting about 200 calories per meal.
Don and I love cake - I made the cake, but did not frost it, again I am cutting about 200 calories there.
I drink cranberry juice every day for my kidney health, I buy the lite juice. I still get all of the benefits of the cranberries but not so much sugar and calories.
I am trying to measure every serving. When I say try - I am not perfect at cutting pizza,ect.
Some things you just gotta estimate.
Water of course is my beverage of choice all day long. I dont want to drink my calories.

Two weeks off of the fish oil and my eyes are almost 100% back to normal. I am still experiencing some dizzyness, but not like I was.

I keep on keeping on... I will not give in and I wont give up!

    I just read your blog on the fish oil ,sounds like you are allergic to it. are you allergic to fish? I Take organic vit.etc and all my other herbs and so on i make sure they are veg., or plant based. Could that have been the reason?I get so upset with DR's sometimes. That is one of the reasons i believe i have CKD. i took Pain meds for osteo arthritis for years ,dr never said a word as to what it can do to your body, by the time you and i and others reach this stage all we can do is try to stop it.So to all you younger folks check all your meds. as to what they can do to your body. I only take what i have to.now and it is because of CKD. and that is all i take. I'm like you i cant take any kind of pain meds.Take care of your self, i know how it feels.And as they say, it aint always good.Excuse the english. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon Caroline

    Good for you. Eyesight is so important ,Did the fish oil cause trouble for your eyes?I do omega oil because of CKD.Glad to here youare getting better. Caroline

Mmm, I love cranberry juice too, but water is my drink of choice, all day long emoticon

    Great ideas! I have to tell you how we do cake. A regular cake mix, 10 ounces of a diet soda (i use diet 7 up or Sprite for mine because I don't like chocolate, but they tell me to use diet Coke for a chocolate cake mix) and one serving of Egg Beaters. Mix well, bake as directed, and enjoy!! I like it warm, no frosting. If you do want to frost it, though, we've used a sugar free pudding mix and a container of lite Cool Whip blended together then slathered over the cake.
