I went to the coffee cart this morning, for my tea latte and cranberry bread - I haven't had time to shop, much less bake my low-cal muffins, between trips. So I'm doing bkfst the lazy way and going to the coffee cart.
I always carry my travel cup and thermos - it just seems reasonable. Zero difficulty for me, and much better for the environment.
So today, each tea latte cost only 75 cents - $1 OFF for bringing in my cup - the owners' way of celebrating Earth Day.
Made me wonder, how else can I celebrate Earth Day? Grocery shop with re-usable bags? Save plastic packaging and re-use whenever possible. Use the stop-flow device when showering in the morning. Don't let the water run while brushing teeth, washing dishes, etc. (And then I look at how much paper my students go through in a day, and I shake my head.)
Other ideas? What are YOU doing to celebrate Earth Day? Planting a tree or garden? Recycling? Re-using? Walking or biking instead of driving? What else can I do? What else can WE do?
