Swim Fins and Flippy Floppies

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Had two swim lessons yesterday, the first one with a friend, which totally kicked my butt. Then I get a phone call from the swim instructor I had be playing phone tag with that she could meet me at 5pm, the same day! What am I getting myself into?

Well my morning swim was tough. My dear friend Suse worked me hard. It was great swimming aside her, watching her glide in the water like a dolphin. I want to go there! I want to be a dolphin. I struggled to keep up with her but I kept trying and that is more work than I have been doing alone.

I felt like a celebrity having my first official swim lesson. My instructor followed me, out of the water and told me how I was doing and gave me tips for the next lap back. It was pretty cool and although it is hard for anyone to notice, including me.... I know I am getting better and I really like swimming. I would never had known.

Keep up the great work! I am 47 and just learned to swim this last year. I still have lots of work to do and I swim about 2 hours every day. I completed my first triathlon a couple of weeks ago and my swim coach did it with me. Stay driven and you will definitely get better. emoticon
