I added sodium as one of the things I'm track on my nutrition page. It's surprising how much we consume without even realizing it. I've been working on cutting back my intake. I pretty much stopped eating frozen dinners and most processed foods, although I still have a long way to go. I also stopped putting salt in my food when I cook. I don't want it, and if anyone else eating the food does, they can add it themselves. We went to dinner at our friends' house Friday and I noticed something interesting. She had made a roast, and it seemed very salty to me. I asked my husband later if it had seemed to salty to him, he said it was fine. So I guess I am getting used to the real taste of food. We had steak and rice for dinner tonight, and I ate it with no salt or butter. I never used to like meat without salt, but tonight I was able to enjoy the taste. I think it allows me to appreciate the individual flavors or the food. So far I've dropped my average weekly sodium intake by about 400mg.
