Chugga Chugga Choo Choo!!

Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Winsten and I broke our record this morning. We did 5.25 miles walking in 48 minutes!!

It is a misty, cool morning, just right for walking.

We started out at a good clip, and after a while, I checked to see how we were doing. Yikes! We had already logged in 2 miles.

That surprised me, and motivated me to keep going.

I thought I was going for mile 3 when I looked again, and geesh! I was on mile 4 already!!

chugga chugga choo choo!!

Not being ready to stop, and full of adrenaline, we go on to mile 5, then on to 5.25.

I checked our time. NO WAY!!! 47:55 minutes.

Double Check the time!! Sure enough, rounded up to 48 minutes!

Actually I am walking again with more gusto since I gained 3+ pounds while my back was giving me grief. I have some extra tonnage to walk off, and am bound and determined to get back below 180 where I was several weeks ago.

And it ain't going to go away by itself, no matter how much I wish it would.

Like Creedence says "Gotta MOVE!"

Winsten and I are very proud of our achievement.

Did I tell you that our time INCLUDED stopping by for a very brief chat with a neighbor, all the while walking in place to keep my heart rhythm up? Yep.

This Spark Thing is truly miraculous and magical. It turned a couch potato blimp into a trimmed down fast walker!

Bring on the 5K!!!

Chugga chugga choo choo!
