...this one's kinda rambly, folks, just to warn you...
It's finally friday, and it's about time! This week has been all over the place! I've finally settled down and just forced myself to exercise portion control and no snacking. (Cleaning out all the snacky food in my apartment was a big help, for sure, though I wish I hadn't managed to do it by eating it all over the past weekend...yeesh!) But since my last bloggity post, things have improved on the binge front (thankfully!). Wednesday I had a latte for breakfast (not stellar, but I knew there was a lot of food in the cards) and then a lot of seafood for lunch--it was my birthday and the team I've been training went all out on lunch--excellentness! I never feel guilty about eating seafood here, because *none* of it is ever deep fried! We also had all manner of cakes, cookies, ice cream, etc. b/c there were a few other birthdays in the office this week...so a lot of sweets (but I planned a bit for it, so I think I managed damage control pretty well!). Went out for drinks too after work, but danced all the booze away (seriously--2 beers versus 2 hours of dancing...I think I came out ahead!)
Yesterday I had overnight oats for breakfast (they look awful, as my coworkers were quick to point out), but they were super tasty with some cocoa powder & a wee bit o' sugar (so good I had the same combo today for brekky too!). Lunch was super thin crust mushroom pizza, and dinner was sweet & sour fish, bbq tofu, and yang chow rice. I was starving by the time we had dinner, so I had a bit too much, but not so much I felt awful, just really full (sadly, this definitely counts as progress!).
Despite being all over the place this week, I did manage to step on the scale and see the needle stop BEFORE 230!!!!!! Sweet!! Haven't seen that in MONTHS! So that's my excitement for Friday. And I'm going to try and hold that image in my mind's eye ALL weekend as incentive to behave! But I have a pretty active weekend planned...Tonight we're going out dancing again (with the rest of the folks who didn't want to go on a weeknight...party every day, no?!)...then we're leaving at 3am for a beach weekend (don't worry, it's a 5 hour drive, so I'll sleep in the van on the way)...day at the beach Saturday and part of Sunday will keep me busy (definitely will keep the snacking down, as I'm only bringing a few pkgs of dried mango and some mac nuts. Healthy food! (and who wants to sit at the beach and eat all day anyway--it's too hot out for that!). Filipino food is pretty healthy if I stick to seafood (which I usually do), so meals shouldn't be a problem, either if I can keep portions in check! So we'll see, I guess!
