I am at 51 weeks of a streak - 51 weeks exercising at least 225 minutes per week . Most weeks I exercised 300 minutes or more but.....51 weeks straight.
The streak started the week that I did the More Half Marathon 2009 and the 52nd week will coincide with me doing the 2010 More Marathon in NYC.
Someone on SP put up a blog asking whether or not a the sparkstreaks helped motivate you and I can answer a resounding YES!!!! Many weeks I would look at that streak ( I think week 26 was one of them ) and I thought about not exercising or taking a week off but I could not bear seeing that streak go back to "0" , so I would either go for a walk or go to the gym - telling myself that I would work out for 15 minutes and if I did not feel well , I would leave. Funny thing is , I have NEVER left , I always stayed and completed the workout , always feeling 200% better once I was done.
I am so proud of myself. Can not wait until next week - I will see the streak turn to 52 weeks and I will complete the More Half Marathon!
Then I will work on 104 weeks.
