Lesson Learned

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Last Sunday I really had the blues! Yes it was my Mothers B.D. and I miss her everyday but everything was making me weepy! The blues didn't leave me until Tuesday. I finally figured out that our natural defenses are low when we are really tired. Last week was a very busy week and I worked longer hours than usual!
3 years ago my husband and I sold our business and retired! I stayed home for a year and discovered that he didn't want to travel or do anything but fish!! That's not my thing and one day I was getting a pedicure and another manicurist was leaving and I said I have a license that I've had for years and I think I might like this. That was two years ago and it gave me a place to socialize and I help a lot of men and women that are older and need help with their nails and toe nails. Lots of them are diabetics and get monthly pedicures. I live in a small town and I'm the only one with a pedicure chair! I really enjoy my work and love the people but last week ,I guess because spring has sprung , it was way to busy for me!!
This week I'm trying to space them out and just do 6 a day, 2 pedi's and 4 manicures, 3 pedicures & 3 manicure I can do that and still go home and cook dinner and feed our furry friends. I've rambled on enough for tonight! Until another time remember if you don't take care of yourself no one else will!!!

Amen to "If you don't take care of yourself nobody will" I can relate. Of course I got the lesson the hard way but I can still appreciate the fact that I was going to school 26 credit hours a quarter, working full-time, doing my Army Reserve duties and raising two kids alone. I was crazy busy and it ended me up in a nursing home. I wish you well as you work to find your equilibrium.
All the best wishes.
