Blah and Pain

It is a rainy day here in eastern PA. I still got my walk in before the rain hit. I have to say that today I feel BLAH... I guess it's the weather. The other thing that has me really concerned is that the scale is not moving! I know that I blogged about this before and got some great advice and support. I do feel better and I am losing inches. But I have a lot of weight to lose. I am experiencing pain in my knee and hip and achilles just from walking for 20 to 30 minutes and doing some very gentle yoga and stretches. The pain is enough to keep me from doing all of the exercise I should. I feel like eating - LOTS - and cooking and baking - which I love. Those things will only comfort me briefly. Any advice on how to get this process rolling? Have a good one...

    I am good to agree with the other responders. Pain usually occurs when you overdo so go a little slower...maybe a few minutes shorter and slower. I do understand the frustration. I was doing well on exercise until the beginning of March when I injured my right knee at the gym. I've been doing walking at the mall (pushing a basket helps), and stationary bike for 15 minutes. There is less impact involved with the stationary bike.

    It's rainy and chilly here in northern Ohio too - the weather really has an effect on me - I need sunshine or the blahs take over!
I've found my weight loss kicks in again if I cut back on my exercise a few days - I don't know why, but it works for me. I usually work hard one week and then slack off (30 minutes a day) for a few days and the scale shows results.

    I think I wrote this before but walking is hard on my joints, too. Anyway you can get an stationary bike or an eliptical machine?

I was feeling hungry all day yesterday too. I ate a bunh of healthy things (almonds, hardboiled egg, vegetable soup, etc.), but what finally did for me was a piece of baking chocolate. At 140 calories, it didn't ruin my diet, but it still really hit the spot.

It turns out we are going to Poconos for a family reunion this summer. Do you know the area at all?

    hang in there I rolled my ankle a few months back and if I push too hard (i always do) I end up missing a few days and get wicked upset! So just do what you can and grab a cooking yourself thin cook book it has a ton of them craving foods that are really great!
