Okay, is it totally geeky for me to already be nervous for my 5K on Friday? PHYSICALLY I know that I'm prepared and will be able to fully run it, but mentally I'm feeling a little frazzled.
I have always been an emotional eater, so I'm focusing really hard on not letting the stress I'm feeling about this race *gulp* derail my nutrition and exercise this week. Just because I have a race on Friday does not mean I get to coast this week!
Here's the plan:
Use the nutrition tracker and stay within my daily guidelines (I do this every day, but this week is especially important!) On Thursday night and Friday morning I plan to "carb up" and eat toward the higher ends of my recommended carbs.
Tonight (Sunday) I did a 2 mile run.
Monday Circuit training with Ms. Jillian
Tuesday RUN. 3.1 miles.
Wednesday Circuit training with Ms. Jillian
Thursday REST. RELAX. Mentally prepare for the race.
Friday RUN THAT RACE! 6:30 PM start. It's chip-timed and all finishers get a medal. My husband is running it with me.
We'll be out of town for the run, so I won't be able to post pictures until I get home, but I'm hoping to hop on and give an update of how the race went!
I HAVE A PLAN, and that is 90% of the battle!
