Day 19

Nineteen days and it's been a rollercoaster.

Between just general life stuff and trying to stick to my plan, it's been a bit crazy. But all in all I stick with it more than not. Exercise has become my biggest bugaboo.

Years ago I was extremely fit. I'm not sure what happened, but heck now I'm lucky to get up the stairs. No, that's not quite right. Twenty days ago, I was lucky to make it up the stairs in a reasonable time without aching legs and feeling out of breath at the top. Now, I can get there faster and still breathing.

Considering I've only got about 40 pounds to lose, that's serious out-of-shape. But I'm getting there. One tiny step at a time. I keep telling myself to have patience. After all, it's a virtue, right?

    I know what you mean by out of breath at the top of the stairs. It is just small steps, literally. I have been taking the stairs in my office the past two weeks; where, before I always rode the elevator, because I would be too out of breath to talk to the person I was going to see. The diference now is that we are doing something about it and each week is easier. I like your rollercoaster comment, too. But I like to think 'well, look back at that hill, I did climb it'.
