Been doing great and then...

Thursday, April 08, 2010

I had no pain for 3 full days. I felt great. Even went for a 20 minute walk this morning that really did a great job on my body and my blood sugar and then this afternoon I sneezed. I wasn't prepared for it. I was told not to blow my nose. So I opened my mouth and it felt like all of the ear drum blew through. throbbing started then and ahs continuesd. So I need to be very careful.

For those of you who are wondering "What is the next step?" OHSU has between 2 and 3 week between surgery and Activation. april 20 get get my ear pieces and turned on. Can't wait.

tomorrow evening we are going to my dragon boat practice but not to practice. i can't do that yet. One of my boat paddlers daughter has a birthdaya fter practice and we will give her a gift. then come home.

I know you will miss practicing with your team.

As far as the sneeze I know what you mean about being unprepared for it. It seems whenever I have a really sore back that is when I sneeze. However I can;t imagine what it must feel.

Take care of yourself.

Less than 2 weeks. Only 12 sleeps as my children used to say when counting down to some exciting event. You sound like your normal cheerful self tonight! Have fun at the party; you will be paddling soon and listening to the water lap against the side of the boat. Sleep well. emoticon

Hope it stops soon. Sneezes can really really hurt after surgery. Hugs

Sounds similar to when my sister had whooping cough and cracked a rib and was pregnant at the time. Dr said 'NO MORE COUGHING, unless you plan on delivering your own kid!"
Be careful, not that sneezing gives you much warning time.

PICKIE sounds like she knows what shes talking about. I know when I strain muscles and then sneeze the pain is INTENSE! DId you have to report this to your doctor? If not it might be a good idea anyway. and yes MASK up!! Stay hydrated too!! Hugs Laurie

That is pretty exciting. I didn't realize sneezing could do that, but I guess I'm really not surprised. Have fun at the birthdayparty/practice.

Yowzer, I forgot about that sneeze thing.. Watch those walks without a mask,, all that pollen that is invisible to you,, go outdoors when ROBERT dusts the furniture or vacs..
It was bad enough with lower body surgeries when I sneezed, but THAT is awful!! mask, humidifier, just a little over a week and a half away,, take care!!
