Whew! Woo!

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

First of all, whew! emoticon I just completed Jillian's No More Trouble Zones full 40-minute circuit training workout. Lemme say...that is a crazy hard workout. You will sweat and shake and ache in many many places. BUT it feels amazingly awesome to complete it. That's where the WOOOO comes in.

Now I'm going to have a protein shake and some water and relax for a bit, then go for a scenic bike ride through some trails by a river. emoticon

Note: This DVD is full of strength training and cardio because Jillian believes that strength training doesn't burn enough calories so she always combines cardio with strength training (usually through circuits). Below are the ST exercises in this 40 minute (7 circuit) workout (which I created a "workout" for on the fitness page so that I wouldn't have to keep entering this whenever I do her DVD):

I know it's small. emoticon I hate that SP takes the quality down THAT much. Anyways, you can still read it if you try reallly hard. Also, you can go to my "shared" fitness and food trackers for April 7, 2010 and see it plenty big! Also, the list of the exercise, reps, etc. isn't listed anywhere that I know of. I went through the DVD once and wrote down everything so that I'd had the name of each exercise. If you get the DVD and decide to enter the exercises in your tracker, feel free to copy mine (editing only the weight you use -- Jillian uses 3lb dumbbells, so I figured that was good enough for me).

well done for completing it but your right you need some cardio to burn the calories and strength exercises to stop the wobbly bits.

Micharm, Haha, thanks! Yeah, and because I wasn't feeling too sore (as I usually don't until the next day), I decided to punish myself with an intense bike ride instead of a leisurely one. There were hills and turns and fast speeds. It was wonderful, but I'm definitely feeling all that exercise today. emoticon

That's the one of her set of 3 that I haven't done yet! I love the other 2, so I might have to pick up this one too.

I think I'm going to have to pick up one of her DVDs and challenge myself to do it--sounds like a great workout.

That workout is crazy but so amazing! You do hurt in places you would never expect and you totally want to dye but after doing it only a few times, I noticed major improvements in my toning. I need to start doing it again. I have 3 of her DVD's plus a couple of the biggest loser one's. I like them all but I think this one is my fave.

I tried her 30 day Shred DVD a while back and loved it. This DVD I just bought and she also has a few more. I like her because she isn't the typical exercise DVD girl with a peppy voice and blonde hair and silly girly-ness. She's badass. She's tough and she just tells you to work because you're working to be stronger, tougher, sexier. I just love her more REAL encouragement over other exercise DVD types. I like how she refuses to accept excuses on Biggest Loser (and with any of her workout DVDs) and she tries to push everybody past the limits they both consciously and unconsciously set for themselves. I think everyone would do much better in fitness if they actually pushed themselves instead of backing down when it gets tough.

You should definitely pick one up. Don't expect to be able to do everything on the DVD the first, second, maybe even third time around. Most likely you will have to rest, but as long as you push yourself, you will finish. And most importantly, get better, get stronger, and get healthier.

Great job! Her workouts sound hard -- everyone who writes about her DVDs sounds exhausted afterward. Maybe I should grab one at the store...
