nobody wants to die." This is an old Gospel song recorded by Alison Krauss and then, with some changed lyrics, by Kenny Chesney.
The version that Ms. Krauss sings has this chorus:
"Everybody wants to go to Heaven, but nobody wants to die.
Lord I wanna go to Heaven, but I don't wanna die.
Well, I long for the day when I'll have new birth, but I like livin' here on earth,
Everybody wants to go to Heaven, but nobody wants to die."
I don't know what group sang the Gospel version I heard over the weekend but I do know that I can't get it out of my mind so am hoping to Blog it away. It seems to me to be analogous to the situation that most SparkPeople once found themselves in. We all wanted to be thin and healthy, but we didn't want to change our lifestyles, give up that beer or resist that donut.
Well, Brothers and Sisters, let me preach to you for a moment: You can long for the day when you'll have less girth, but if you like eating, drinking, and couch potato-ing too much, it just ain't gonna happen!
Set your priorities!
