Focus

Monday, April 05, 2010

Have you ever heard the saying "She has a one track mind." In my case its a good analogy. I tend to get very focused on one thing at a time. Which is wonderful if my focus is on my diet. This week however, my focus was not on my diet. My husband and I spent the week painting my little girl's room pink and our living room green. We went and saw a movie, looked at buying a new car (didn't get one), we were soooo busy.

I didn't go completely off and slip back into my old habits, but I did lose focus. I would not quite count my calories, or I would eat mindlessly, real butter, Reese's Peanut Butter eggs, which just so you know must be made by the devil himself . . . . Anyway you get the idea. So I went a little off the track.

Now what??

Am I going to quit? NO

Am I going to berate myself? NO

Am I going to say I will never, ever eat real butter ever again? Not without my nose growing like Pinocchio.

Am I going to boycott the makers of Reece's Peanut Butter Eggs? Maybe

Am I going to get back on track? Yup!

I think the most important part of spark is that this isn't just a "diet" - but really a lifestyle. It doesn't matter if you go crazy at Easter and eat all the Reeses eggs in sight, because you know that's not how your everyday is anymore.

Good for you getting back into it so quickly!

You and my husband make me laugh about those Reese's PB Eggs. My favorite treat in the whole world is a Reese's Peanut butter cup blizzard add bananas... but I actually don't like the eggs. emoticon

Good Job in jumping back on track. I watched my weight gain this last week too and I'm just not certain why, except I didn't track nutrition OR fitness for 4 days in a row. Accountability is sooo important. So glad to have this team and you!

Wow, were you watching a movie of my life this week? I got SO off track this week! Life, and living life, can be difficult sometimes. Your attitude is a testament to your healthy lifestyle. It is merely a detour, not a roadblock for your success. Keep up the good work!
