Las Vegas

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

I'm going to Las Vegas! Wish me luck....lots of it. Obviously, I won't be on Spark for a few days, but I'll get caught up as soon as I get back. Wishing everyone a wonderful Easter!
And if any of you have visited Vegas before, we're looking for a few "non-gambling" things to do....we know we're going to Hoover Dam, but would appreciate any other ideas!

WoW Deb ,that is a great vacation place. Well don't blame us when we hear Las Vegas, the only thought that comes to our mind is gambling & romance. Enjoy dear and tell us all about it when you return.

Well I've never been, hope you have a wonderful time! Try some tourism brochures on the internet. I understand the desert is beautiful, especially at sunrise (but cold). I understand there are museums, and there might be tours within driving distance. I understand you can eat at the restaurants inside the hotels for very very very cheap prices for very high quality, delicious gourmet food (take some exercise dvds and stretchy bands WITH you, LOL). Find out about the way to pronounce "Nevada" - there are 2 ways, one is the ways locals say it, so depending on how you say it, they ask you where you're from as a test and if you're "local" then you get in free to the museum. I understand slots (can be?) fun, but I just don't get it. That wouldn't be fun to me. I played Pac Man but at least that was fun; there was a game involved. I have an addictive personality so I guess I should thank Jesus daily I'm NOT addicted to gambling, drugs, etc. Yeah maybe you better stay away from the slots, LOL.

How are you going to celebrate Easter while you're there??? I'm guessing that would be difficult to do in Sin City. Can't wait to hear about it when you get back. Hope you take lots of pictures. Hope you have a wonderful, safe trip!

I was there once - got in late - walked around a bit - not much experience just to say we were there. I loved the lights and walking at night. We stayed at Circus Circus I think = there was lots of family fun there. WE don't gamble and I found it annoying to walk through the casinos. I would say enjoy the sights, the shows, there are lots of free things just on the streets to take in. You will figure it out...

We did go to Hoover Dam - it was awesome.
Have fun! emoticon

Have fun in Las Vegas. I have never been but I'm sure there are other things to do besides gambling. After about 15 mins at the casino I get bored so I guess I'm not much of a gambler.
