My Schedule, My Plan

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Starting work this week has been incredibly difficult....and already by the third day I'll be managing the place by myself (seems a silly choice by the manager, but whatever). This week, so far, I haven't gone to any Zumba class, nor have I strength trained (I haven't been to the gym AT ALL). This new schedule (which hopefully won't be the same next week - I'm working a lot more this week because of Easter) is really annoying and making it terribly difficult to find time to workout. I did Zumba at home once (using 5 of my class's songs/routines and doing it on my back porch). Doing Zumba at home is much less satisfying. I enjoy the class because there are people to laugh with, talk to, watch, etc. It's more social and it keeps me wanting to do it. Zumba is a Party! Zumba at home is lonely. But I will try to keep doing it and I'm going to try to make a new schedule for myself for going to the gym in the morning (which I don't really like to do because I'm an evening person). I should be going to Zumba on Friday night (only OFF day) and Saturday morning (before work).

Tentative Workout Schedule:

emoticonSun - Cardio before work.
emoticonMon - Cardio/ST before work.
emoticonTues - Cardio before work.
emoticonWed - Cardio/ST before work.
emoticonThurs - Cardio before work.
emoticonFri -Zumba @ 5:30-6:30pm. ST before/after Zumba.
emoticonSat - Zumba @ 10:00-11:00am.

Until I know what my more permanent schedule at work is going to be this is only temporary. I think it helps to write it out, though.

are you still using that plan? It's a pretty tough one, and most people will fall off for a few days now and then. (I know I do, again and again.) Don't let it get you down if it happens to you! Hope you're doing well.

Hang in there--just find ways to keep moving even at work. It's tough fitting in workouts when your work schedule isn't settled. Stay flexible and committed to keeping active, you will make it!

Sounds like you have a plan and know how to work in your needs within your schedule demands. emoticon

Thanks, Labyrinth! I will try to make it work until it does.

SparkyRobert, I stand and walk all day at work, so I probably don't want to do that before or after work (unless I have a partner). But I will figure it out. I'll probably just try to get up earlier and head to the gym for an hour or so and give myself enough time to shower and cool down/relax before work.

It'll balance out. You could try to get a walk in if cardio is too much to fit in on any given day.

Hang in there!

It's so hard to adjust your workout schedule to a new job. Perserve and it will happen... just have faith in yourself.
