A Body Cleanse that isn't crazy

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Women's Health Mag explains why detoxing by fasting or drinking a foul-tasting liquid is NOT the answer. Instead a sensible diet full of fruits, veggies, lean proteins, etc IS the answer. It even includes a sample diet that will cut out unnecessary sugars, saturated fats, etc.

Thanks for this. It's very close to what I already do daily but it is nice to have someone else plan three days for me! I would also suggest switching their dinner and lunch so starches are digested earlier in the day. This has really been a booster for me.

That is true! Fasting and detoxification is just temporary thing, and will gain weight back! Usually lots of veggies and fruits works. You can make smoothies with various of fruits and veggies combine together they are delicious!

I was just reading that article last night because I had been thinking about doing a detox. After reading that, I'm quite sure I'm not going to do it.

PTCAKES: Well, because it really isn't a detox diet (as they are normally done). It's just sensible food choices. No extra sugars, saturated fats, etc. It's healthy foods that naturally have fewer calories in them. I suppose you could say it's a detox from BAD foods. :)

Thanks for posting the link. I never thought much of the detox diets. But this one makes sense.
