As a receptionist... I find a few things frustrating and that is people who call and just say a name.
At the bare minimum can you please say" I'd like to speak with so and so" or "Can you put me through to so and so" sheesh. Just stating a name is too short..and I don't catch it, especially if you have a bad connection. That way when I hear the start of your sentence I can be ready to listen for a name. Instead of asking you to repeat 2 words over because you said the name too fast for me to catch and nothing else!! That's all I ask..a simple sentence you don't even have to be courteous and say hello.
Just had to get that off my chest.
