You've been so supportive with your prayers and encouragement. I wanted to share Heath's progress with you. He had gone from 24 pounds to 19 pounds with his injuries and has gained two and a half pounds back. He is standing and walking a bit more, and that's a good thing. He has seen the pediatric ophthalmologist because he's begun to be cross eyed. They have an appointment scheduled with the surgeon next week. It may require a surgery to get his eyes back straight. He is able to reach for things just fine, so I don't think his vision is terribly affected. Time will tell. Thank you again, so much, my friends. You are appreciated.

This is a photo of Heath from today, riding the Mater toy we gave him for Christmas. Goodness but we love that little one!

Dear Missy, my son had crossed eyes, and we didn't discover it until he was older the Heath. He had surgery, and after a while, they tuned out fine. Actually, he has to wear glasses, but that's a different issue. Do not worry about surgery - if needed, it will correct the issue. Prayers continue.

Missy, I thank you for sharing the picture with us. My heart aches for Heath, and all of you. I am so glad that Heath has such a loving family to care for and love him. I know that God is in control, and He is going to bring great victory in this situation. I continue to pray, and to stand in agreement with you all in the total healing of Heath.

Hi Missy, 3 of my children have amblyopia and strabismus (formerly called lazy eye and it looks like cross eyes.) It took my oldest daughter her entire life (almost) but with glasses, eye drops and several unpleasant months of patching her good eye for her to have normal vision without the need for glasses unless she is tired. It is hard to believe what might have been. She started wearing baby bifocals at 18 months old and we had many, many appointments for her--but things worked out well in time and no surgery was needed. My other daughter had the same issue, but the doctor found that she was able to control the issue herself and he gave us evenng eye drops to help train her eyes--she is fine and never needed glasses even. Our youngest son also has this and he has worn regular lenses and had some patching since he was 2. He just turned 12 and his recent appojntment with the eye doctor was wonderful--they are reducing the magnification level of his lenses. I love to share this because there is a lot of progress and hope with this situation. I'll keep Heath and your family inmy prayers as you go through the issues in your lives right now. I'm glad that he is showing improvement.
