I'm Back!

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Well, I am back home after being gone almost a week! We went to my daughter's house in Emporia to do some work on the place. She has been living there for the past few years but it is now time for her to move closer to home (like in with me! lol!) We bought the house for her to live in while she attended college but she is now attending on-line classes only so the house isn't necessary any more. We put in some new light fixtures and ceiling fans and did a few minor repairs in order to get it put on the market. Of course the day after we listed it, the snow started falling and there was several inches on the ground - along with ice. YUCK! We actually got "stuck" in Emporia for an extra day because of the weather and the road conditions. It was fun though 'cause all my grandbabies were there (my other daughter & her kids had come with us).

I had packed my running clothes and shoes, etc. and had every intention of running at least once or twice while we were there. Well, that didn't happen. The day before it started storming I had the WORST headache that I have had in a long, long time. I sometimes get those "barometer headaches" before it rains. Don't think I have ever had one before a snow though. It was weird and SO painful. So, that day was out for running for sure. Too bad though 'cause it was a beautiful and fairly warm day. Of course, after that, there was several inches of ice and snow on the ground so running was a no-no.

Besides not getting any exercise the entire time I was gone (except for housework stuff) I also didn't eat too well. I didn't track anything and pretty much ate whatever I wanted. I now feel horrible, fat and yucky! I did gain a couple of pounds and I feel swollen and bloated. Why do I do that to myself? I am finding more and more that I really have a hard time when I am away from home. That is why I really balk when I have to go somewhere for any period of time. Home is safe and home is where I can stay on track! Gonna have to figure out how to deal with that one of these days or I am going to end up being a complete hermit!

The good news is that I am now back home. I'm tracking my food again and know that I will now be able to eat properly and also get my exercise back on track. Can't wait to get my shoes on and run today! It is already in the 60's temperature-wise! Hurray for spring! No traces of snow left, thank goodness!!!

It's good to be home. :)

Glad your back and running. Put it all behind and start fresh and you'll feel good in no time at all.
