Another update

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Well I went to my doc today, actually got in to see him. I really hate the long delays in getting appointments! But I digress

Doc said the anti-bacterial that the medi clinic doc put me on, is a very good one, but he (My doc) always tries to see his patients within a couple of days after they finish the dose, and then will perscribe another dose to make sure it all works as it should. The problem with this kind of pill is that they do not always have enough anti-bacterial fo the whole 10 days. What happens is the patient takes the pills for 5 days, which helps to get things rolling, but after you stop taking the pill, you end up with less of a concentration in the body as eacg dat gies by, and the stronger "little devils" that were not killed off can grow again and cause a relapse. This type of pill is much milder (easier) on the tummy than the other kinds of pills. But he gave me the stronger one. So here I go again.

Someone left a message on my last blog and told me I should not be playing around with this as it could have bad consequenses. I have been the clinic twice (3 timees including today) in the past 2 weeks, taking a full perscription and following doc's directions, So how is this playing around?

I just know this whole thing is starting to get depressing!

It is getting late so I am off to get some sleep. Hope you all get a good night's rest as well.

Edited:
Oh yes, one final thing. Doc told me to up my vitamin D from 5,000 units a day to 10,000 units THREE TIMES PER DAY That is 10 pilles three times a day for a total of 30 pills a day. Luckily he said only do it for 3 days!. Hope that does some good too..

Take care of yourself! Sounds like you are doing everything you can to get better.

I was talking to my naturopath about vit d.... she mentioned that taking it in liquid form helps one absorb it more quickly... just thought I would pass that little tidbit on...

You are in my thoughts and prayers that you are soon feeling great and back to your normal self. I am so glad you got to see your doctor. It is no fun being sick as we all know. Please get plenty of rest and drink lots of liquids as you take your meds. Just know we are all thinking of you.
Blessings and hugs,
Helen

Have you tried Elderberry Syrup? It is great! I am not saying it is a cure all. We take this all winter long, as well as Vit D and using colloidal silver. Just give me a holler if you would like more information. It sounds like I am plugging but I am just sharing. I also sell Juice Plus (a whole food supplement) that has helped us not be sick. Feel free to check it out and let me know if you would like more information too. Bottom line, it stinks to be sick and I hope you get to feeling better soon! Hang in there girl!! :-)

I'm so sorry you're still struggling; it's hard to be sick. Keep drinking and get lots of rest, give your body a chance to heal and fight. I hope this round of medication works and really knocks those germs out.

Take care,
Christine

You sound in very good hands with your MD. It sounds like he knows what he is doing.

I agree with you. You are doing the right thing for yourself.Don't fret over it. Sometimes people don't always understand how the system works. Get well and feel better and then you can get back to exercising. If you're like me I lose weight when I get sick. It always happens. However keeping it off is something else. Hope
