Do you love you as much as I love you?

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

I started having heart flutters and knew that was the beginning of heart problems, just like my dad.

I am type A blood which means very thick with extra platelets and I have tiny veins which means a little plaque would stop up my veins pretty badly. When I put all the information in I just knew I had to take the weight off. I also realize this is no guarantee that my heart will be ok.

Sadly my neighbor got cancer of the appendix and came closer to dying than we like to consider and her doctors told her to walk as much as she could, as often as she could and I promised her I would be walking right by her side.

This is my motivation, my secret button. She has walked me from 1 mile daily to 9+ when the weather was warmer and I know we will be doing it again this summer. The good news is she is still with me and my heart flutters are gone, along with 90 lbs of me!

Whatever it takes, we do it. You need to decide what is most important to you. Do you want to be off medicines? Breathing easier? Free from the dependence on junk food? Use it to help you stay on track.

I know you can do it. But my knowing this won't help you - you have to believe it too. You must have faith in yourself and forgive transgressions so you can love yourself enough to get back on track when you slip, and we all slip sometimes. Temptations are all around us. Sometimes we reach and grab instead of just saying no. It happens. But with free choice comes the chance to get back on track every day.

I love you. Do you love you too? I sure do hope so.

I do love myself...that is why I quit work and dedicated my life to getting healthy a few years ago. :-) At some point, I had to decide what I wanted more, a new car or my health. I am still driving the same '99 Saturn and it was the right choice. ROFL

Thanks for sharing. Sometimes we get hung up on the aesthetics. :-) emoticon emoticon emoticon

Profound and beautiful! Your neighbor was and is lucky to have you, and perhaps it was more than luck that brought you two together. Perhaps it was more than luck that put me in touch with you, too. Thanks. I love you, too, and yes, I am learning to love me as well. Love, Marsha
