So happy that I managed to get there, Sorry this video took a day to updload! My legs are knackered today but stomach is feeling a bit better.

I am just so excited for you! Don't worry about the competitive nature of the race, just run your own race and your own pace. Position yourself mid pack and you will be fine. It is very natural to be nervous, but with your training and the adrenalin produced by a race, you won't have any problems meeting your goal. What is the temperature going to be like (approximately) and what time does it start? My event isn't until May 22nd, so should be low-60's when the race starts and there are expected to be 15,000-20,000 participants. That is a lot of people. Do you know how many will be in your event?

As far as what to eat, I stick to a banana, 2 hard-boiled eggs and almonds or some other whole, unprocessed nut. I have also tried a protein bar before, but found the sugar makes me feel yucky. I eat about an hour before the event. I also try to drink 8 oz of water an hour before the race to give me enough time to use the restroom before the event starts. I only have 4 races under my belt, so it may be good to get input from others.

I'll keep checking back on how you are doing. BTW, I really love your accent!
